The 128-channel CT, the latest addition at KYUH, boasts the best performance and image quality in the world and reduces radiation exposure by more than half compared to conventional CT. Under the new concept called volume CT, it can perform scans at 32-times the speed of conventional CT and detect various diseases that could not be detected by conventional CT.
It produces high-definition images of all areas of the body with the spatial resolution improved to 0.35mm while minimizing radiation exposure. It can be used to check for cerebrovascular disease and brain tumor based on a head scan, lung cancer and thoracic aortic aneurysm based on a chest scan, and diseases of the liver, pancreas, kidney, and colon based on an abdominal scan for an accurate diagnosis.
In particular, in the case of coronary artery examination, an accurate examination can be performed without inserting an instrument into the patient’s body.
