ANGIO is cutting-edge equipment that can be used to diagnose vascular diseases based on angiography and treat severe vascular and non-vascular diseases by performing interventional procedures. It is used to perform percutaneous transluminal angioplasty on narrowed or blocked blood vessels using a specially designed balloon catheter or metal mesh, trans-arterial chemo-embolizatio which involves administering an anticancer agent into the blood vessel and preventing nutrients from being carried in the bloodstream to the liver, and cerebral aneurysm embolization, a highly difficult technique applied as an alternative to surgery for cerebral artery patients.
These interventional radiation procedures are performed by referring to the results of the ultrasound examination, MRI, CT, etc., and they are carried out to alleviate the symptoms of inoperable diseases or as an alternative to surgery. At KYUH, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and highly competent medical professionals, angiography and interventional radiography are carried out.
